Video: Meeting at Sirikotha descends into chaos

A meeting chaired by UNP Leader Ranil Wickramasinghe ended abruptly when protests and objections from the audience began to erupt, eventually resulting in the meeting descending into chaos. Mr. Wickramasinghe had addressed the gathering consisting of members of several Trade Unions, including the Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya, when those present began to voice their objections. The meeting also saw UNP General-Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam in attendance. The scene soon became uncontrollable with vociferous Trade Unionists on their feet, forcing those on stage to leave the hall in a hurry. The protesters continued to air their descent as they left the premises.
