PHIs advise not to hold Dansals in line with Poson

COLOMBO (News 1st): The general public has been advised not to hold any Dansals in line with the Poson Poya day, taking into account the prevailing health concerns, according to the Public Health Inspectors Union. "Permission was not granted to anyone to hold Dansals," said Upul Rohana - Chairman of the Public Health Inspectors Union, on Friday (June 5). PHI Chairman went on to note, if someone intends to hold any Dansals, instead they could donate dry rations to underprivileged families in their neighbourhoods following prior permission and guidance from the Public Health Inspectors. "Gathering at temples unnecessarily is prohibited and if one feels the need to visit temples in line with Poson Poya, they must seek prior permission from the Public Health Inspectors and visit temples adhering to health guidelines," Upul Rohana told News 1st.
