South-West monsoon condition establish over the island: Met Department

COLOMBO (News 1st): The South-West monsoon condition is gradually establishing over the country, according to the Department of Meteorology. "As a result, the prevailing showery condition over the South-Western part of the island is expected to continue further," the Met Department said in its latest weather advisory on Friday (May 29). The Met Department forecasts, showers or thundershowers in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western and Southern provinces. Heavy rainfalls exceeding 100 mm are predicted in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces.
