COLOMBO (News 1st): Due to the low level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, prevailing showery condition over the island particularly in the Southwestern part is expected to enhance further, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Heavy rainfalls exceeding 150 mm could be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces.
The landslide warning issued for 7 districts continue to remain in effect.
Certain areas in the Ratnapura, Kegalle, Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, Kalutara and Matara districts are at risk of landslides, Senior Scientist of the National Building Research Organisation Dr. Wasantha Senadeera said.
