UPDATE : Weather Advisory for heavy rain

The Department of Meteorology has issued a Special Advisory for "Heavy Rain" Prevailing showery condition in the South-western part of the country particularly in Southern, Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces is expected to continue according to the Meteorology Department. Very heavy falls above 200 mm will be expected at some places. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in other areas after 02.00 p.m. Wind speed can increased up to 40 kmph at times over the island. General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning and localized strong winds during thundershowers.
