COLOMBO (News 1st): During the 24-hour window that ended at 6:00 am on Sunday (May 24), 515 people have been arrested for curfew violations, according to Sri Lanka Police.
152 vehicles were seized during this period.
“A total of 62,677 people have been arrested for curfew violations since the curfew was imposed on March 20th,” said SP Jaliya Senaratne – Police Media Spokesperson on Sunday.
According to SP Senaratne a total 17,612 vehicles were seized during this period.
“Of the total curfew violators arrested, legal action was filed against 19,586. Proceedings of 7,661 have concluded,” said SP Senaratne.
