COVID-19 cases stands at 1055

COLOMBO (News 1st): As of Friday (May 22) morning, the number COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka has climbed to 1055. On Thursday (May 21), 27 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed, of which 15 were those quarantined at the Giraagama Quarantine Facility. The group had returned to the island Dubai and had been quarantined upon arrival, according to Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Director General Health Services. Two of the confirmed cases on Thursday, were Navy personnel who were undergoing quarantine at the Mullativu Quarantine Facility. "442 patients are continuing to receive treatment as active COVID-19 cases," said Dr Jasinghe. The total recoveries in Sri Lanka stands at 604. COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 09 people in the country.
