3519 people undergoing quarantine at 37 facilities

Total of 578 Sri Lanka Navy Sailors tested positive for COVID-19 & 221 of them recovered

Colombo (News 1st);  230 people who were undergoing quarantine at several facilities across the country were released after testing NEGATIVE for COVID-19.

Accordingly, a total of 10,103 people were released thus far from quarantine facilities operated by the Armed Forces.

Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said 3519 people are currently undergoing quarantine at 37 quarantine facilities in Sri Lanka.

He said in total 578 sailors attached to the Sri Lanka Navy tested positive for COVID-19 and 221 of them were discharged from hospital following complete recovery.

357 sailors are currently undergoing treatment at multiple hospitals across the country.

The Army Commander said Sri Lankans would be repatriated from various countries in the coming days, especially from Russia and the countries in that region.
