COLOMBO (News1st): The transport ministry has extended the validity period of driving licences, amidst travel restrictions due to the coronavirus.
Accordingly, all licenses that expire between April 16 to May 31 have been extended until July 31, a gazette issued by the ministry showed.
Earlier, the motor traffic department had extended the validity period of driving licenses that expired after March 15, by a month, as it remained shut as part of measures to combat COVID-19.
The motor traffic department will resume operations on Wednesday while introducing a reservation system for locals to obtain services.
