Special program launched to rehabilitate drug addicts in Colombo

COLOMBO (News1st) : Sri Lanka's health ministry has launched a special program to rehabilitate drug addicts in capital Colombo. These programs will take place at 11 state hospitals, Dr. Laknath Welagedara, Chairman of the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) said. The exercise is being implemented with the collaboration of the NDDCB. Accordingly, those seeking treatment can contact 0710301301 to obtain details on the rehabilitation process, the health ministry said. Official figures show that at least around 65,000 drug addicts have been identified in the Western Province, the highest among the nine provinces. The 11 hospitals in which the rehabilitation process will take place include;
  • Maligawatta Divisional Hospital
  • Colombo National Hospital
  • South Colombo Teaching Hospital
  • District Hospitals in Piliyandala
  • District Hospitals in Nawagamuwa
  • District Hospitals in Athurugiriya
  • National Institute of Mental Health - Angoda
