COLOMBO (News1st) : President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has said that the COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund has received more than Rs 1 billion in donations.

“Utilization of funds will be done with complete transparency & audited accounts will be shared with public in due course,” the President said in a tweet on Saturday.

President Rajapaksa had set-up the fund in March in a bid to strengthen the country’s efforts in combating the coronavirus.
