Retail Liquor License owners have been permitted to reopen bars, in areas where curfew is not in effect under certain restrictions, the excise department said in a statement on Wednesday.

However, bars at hotels, pubs and restaurants have not been permitted to reopen.

The excise department said that wholesale liquor license owners have also been permitted to reopen.

Meanwhile, in the Districts of Colombo and Gampaha, where the curfew has not been lifted, bars at supermarkets have been permitted to reopen, the excise department said in a statement.
