More than 400 sailors tested positive for COVID-19 & 41 fully recovered

More than 400 sailors tested positive for COVID-19 & 41 fully recovered

Colombo (News 1st); The total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka rose to 869 late last night following the detection of 06 new positive cases.

Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander Lt. General Shavendra Silva speaking to News 1st said all the new cases are gallant sailors attached to the Sri Lanka Navy.

This means a total of 428 sailors contracted the virus while 41 of them recovered in full and were discharged from the hospital.

There are now 387 sailors currently receiving treatment for COVID-19.

Accordingly, the number of active COVID-19 cases in Sri Lanka stands at 517 while 343 people recovered fully and were discharged from the hospital.
