Showers or thundershowers to occur in most places of the island in the evening or night

According to the Meteorology Department, Showers or thundershowers will occur over most places of the island in the evening or night. Heavy falls about 100 mm are likely at some places in the Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Central and North-Central provinces and in the Galle, Matara and Kalutara districts. Showers or thundershowers are likely over coastal areas of Southern, Western and Eastern provinces during the morning hours as well. The General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity and localized strong winds (70 to 80 kmh) during thundershowers.
