COLOMBO (News1st): The grace period granted to settle motor traffic fines has been further extended until May 29, considering curfew and travel restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus.
“Accordingly, fines which were imposed on or after March 01 can be settled within this date without any overdue penalty,” the postal department said in a statement.
The department had previously declared a grace period until May 2. However, it said that this period would be extended as certain parts of the country were under curfew.
Motor traffic fines can be paid at post offices and sub-post offices after services resume on Monday.
