Navy dismisses false reports and says it is actively engaged to combat COVID-19

Colombo (News 1st); Sri Lanka Navy today stressed it is actively involved in the efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19 in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka Navy Headquarters in a statement said reports of the navy temporarily stepping away from COVID-19 prevention activities and operations, as claimed by social media posts and certain websites, are baseless and false.
The statement stressed, the Sri Lanka Navy has not stepped away from the national mechanism in place to prevent the spread of the virus.
Sri Lanka Navy said it would take strict legal action against institutions and individuals for posting and circulating such false reports.
