More than 1200 ordered to self-quarantine in Mutuwal Housing Complex

Colombo (News 1st); More than 1200 people from 239 houses in the Methsanda Sevana housing complex in Mutuwala were ordered to self-quarantine.

Chief Medical Officer of Health for the Colombo Municipal Council Dr. Ruwan Vijyaamuni speaking to News 1st said the entire housing complex was declared an isolated area.

This measure was taken after a 62-year-old woman residing at the Methsanda Sevana housing complex tested positive for the virus.

She was subject to a PCR test after she was hospitalized due to chest pain.

Six of her family members and 4 others who admitted the patient to the hospital were directed to quarantine centers.

Dr. Ruwan Vijyaamuni also added, tomorrow PCR tests will be carried out on close contacts as well as the 1st and 2nd contacts of the patient.
