COLOMBO (News1st): The government has said that the mechanism to leave homes based on the last digit of the National Identity Card will be applicable only when the curfew is in effect.
Earlier, the government had stated that this regulation will be applicable across areas in which the curfew has been lifted.
"This will not be applicable while leaving houses when the curfew is lifted," the President's Office said in a statement, clarifying the mechanism, on Sunday.
The statement stressed that entering or leaving areas which have been declared as isolated zones has, however, been completely prohibited.
Accordingly, those with 1 or 2 as the final digit on the NIC can leave their homes on Monday, 3 or 4 on Tuesday, 5 or 6 on Wednesday, 7 or 8 on Thursday, and 9 or 0 on Friday.
Sri Lanka will lift curfew for 21 districts at 5 am tomorrow.
