Curfew relaxed in certain districts from 5 a.m to 8 p.m today

Except for the districts of Colombo, Kalutara, Gampaha and Puttalam, curfew across the rest of the island was lifted at 5.00 this morning. It will be re-imposed over these areas at 8.00 this evening. Curfew is to be imposed daily from 8 pm to 5 am across these areas, until Friday the 1st of May. Meanwhile, the ongoing curfew in the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam will remain in force till 5.00 am on Monday, the 04th of May. In order to resume work at both public and private sector institutions in the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam from 4th May, relevant regulations will be relaxed, even when the curfew is still in force, the President's Media Division said. The private sector entities should open to work at 10.00 am daily. Buses belonging to Sri Lanka Transport Board and railway carriages can only transport employees who are reporting for work.
