Navy continues quarantine of Welisara Navy Complex

Colombo (News 1st); Sri Lanka Navy continued with its quarantine process at the Welisara Naval Complex and directed COVID-19 infected personnel for treatment.

After identifying COVID-19 infected naval personnel in the Naval Complex-Welisara, measures were followed to keep it as an isolation area and now steps are being taken by Navy to identify the infected personnel and to sterilize the Naval Complex premises. Sri Lanka Navy said the entire Welisara Naval Complex was subject to disinfection today as well. After the identification of COVID-19 infected personnel in the Naval Complex-Welisara on a previous day, the personnel made out as close contacted ones are being directed to PCR test on a priority list and those who are positive to COVID-19, are being sent to hospitals for treatment by the Navy. Further, those identified healthy by PCR tests are kept under quarantine in separated safe areas. The Navy is taking prompt actions to facilitate the Navy General Hospital which is situated in Naval Complex-Welisara, after its complete sterilization, as a hospital for treatment of Naval personnel in the Naval Complex who tested positive to COVID-19.
