COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lanka’s cybersecurity institute has warned the public against entering details in a google document circulating under the name ‘Naya Sahanaya 2020’, citing it as a phishing attempt.
The document has been circulating on WhatsApp claiming to have been released by the Credit Information Bureau of Sri Lanka and the Financial Sector Computer Security Incident Response Team.
The Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), in a statement, stressed that both entities have denied releasing the document, and urged the public to refrain from entering their details.
A phishing attempt is made to steal user data, including login credentials and credit card numbers.
Previously, CERT had also warned of a free internet data scam, a blackmail scam, and malware being sent through emails.
