COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lanka’s cybersecurity authority has warned social media users of a free internet data scam, as they could lose access to personal information.
In a warning, the national centre for cyber-security (CERT) strictly warned users against opening links circulating on social media, claiming to have originated from trusted organizations.
“Check on the organization’s website to make sure any promotion is real and valid before registering yourself for it,” CERT stressed in a statement.
Recently, the cybersecurity centre had also warned email users of a blackmail scam and a malware threat being circulated through emails.
