The Government Teachers Association of Sri Lanka (GTSL) on Wednesday urgent the government not to re-open schools on the 11th of May as the virus has not been contained in the country.
GTSL Deputy Secretary Indika Paranavithana said that due to the spread of the COVID-19 in the country, it is not practical to re-open schools in May.
“The schools should remained closed unless there is assurance given by the health sector to avoid unnecessary risks,” Paranavithana said.
The total number of covid cases reported yesterday stands at 310.
