Sri Lankan retrieved from MSC Maginifica completes quarantine

Colombo (News 1st); The sole Sri Lankan crew member aboard the MSC Magnifica who was retrieved and taken into quarantine completed the mandatory quarantine and was permitted to head home on Tuesday.

According to the Ministry of Defence Anura Bandara Herath who was retrieved from MSC ‘Magnifica’, an Italian cruise ship, on April 6 by Sri Lanka Navy, left home on completion of the compulsory quarantine process at the Boossa quarantine center. He also received a quarantine certificate following a PCR test conducted at the quarantine center. The MSC Magnifica cruise ship on the 5th of January started a worldwide cruise heading to Italy with 2,700 passengers on board. It entered Sri Lankan waters to refuel, in early April.
