General election to be held on June 20

COLOMBO (News1st): Chairman of the National Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya says that the postponed parliamentary elections will be held on June 20. The election was scheduled to be held on April 25, but had been postponed due to the coronavirus. The decision to conduct the poll in June had been reached during a special meeting held with the presence of the three members of the commission today. District secretaries and senior officials of the health, postal, and printing sectors had also attended the meeting.
