COLOMBO (News1st): The number of coronavirus infections in Sri Lanka soared past 300 with the highest cases in a single day, as 32 tested positive of COVID-19 on Monday, the health ministry’s website showed.
Earlier Monday, the health ministry announced that 24 people who were undergoing quarantine at Bandaranayake Mawatha in Colombo tested positive for the virus.
The ministry had subsequently updated its website to show that eight more patients had tested positive for the virus.
Health ministry statistics show that 303 people have been infected in total, with the number of recoveries standing at 97. Seven people have died due to the virus in the country.
