Daily wage workers to receive allowance

COLOMBO (News1st): Daily wage workers severely hit by the impact of COVID - 19 will be granted an allowance of Rs 5000 from next week, the prime minister's office said. More than 1.9 million daily wage workers including three-wheeler drivers and lottery sellers will be entitled to the allowance, a statement from the prime minister's office read.
