India gifts Sri Lanka a 10-tonne consignment of medicines

COLOMBO (News1st): India on Tuesday gifted a 10-tonne consignment of medicines to Sri Lanka, in view of the COVID - 19 crisis. The Indian High Commission in a statement said the medicines were flown to Sri Lanka through a chartered Air India flight upon a request made by the Sri Lankan government. Sri Lanka and India have contributed five milion dollars and 10 million dollars respectively to the SAARC COVID - 19 Emergency Fund which was set-up in mid-March.
