Over 28,000 Dengue Cases Reported in 2026

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Community Medical Specialist at the National Dengue Control Unit, Dr. Prasheela Samaraweera, stated that 28,713 dengue cases have been reported so far this year.
She noted that 15 dengue-related deaths have been recorded during the year 2026.
Accordingly, Dr. Prasheela Samaraweera urged the public to take measures to prevent mosquito breeding and control the spread of dengue.
