COLOMBO (News1st): The Police on Sunday announced that 1245 people have been arrested by 6 am today for violating the curfew in the country.
Issuing a statement, the Police Headquarters said the arrests had been made between 6 am yesterday and 6 am today.
During this period, 336 vehicles had been seized for travelling without a valid curfew permit.
Curfew restrictions have been imposed in the country in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19 which has claimed five lives in the island.
According to the Police, the number of arrests made so far since 6 am on March 20 stands at 13,468, with 3353 vehicles being seized.
