COLOMBO (News 1st): Issuing a communique Police Media Spokesperson, SP Jaliya Senarathne states that the content currently being circulated on social media of the entire country to be placed under complete lockdown, from 10th-15th of April is fake. He further states that the content further carries that the law will be enforced strictly, food and other material distribution, way-side purchases, vehicles carrying bakery items will not be in effect during this period is all fake. The communique further assures the general public that the government has not yet reached such a decision, while further advising the people to not spread such fake content. The CID has commenced investigations to track down individuals releasing and distributing such content in social media platforms while also stating that strict legal measures will be taken against such people.
