COLOMBO (News 1st):- All international Airports in Sri Lanka will continue to be closed for the operation of inbound international commercial passenger flights until further notice, the Civil Aviation Authority said on Saturday (4th April). The CAA said that all online and offline carriers are informed of the decision according to instructions received from health authorities.
“This closure will be reviewed by the Sri Lankan authorities,” Upul Dharmadasa Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority said on Saturday issuing a notice.
The CAA said that during the closure period aircraft departures with passengers originating from Colombo, Stopovers, transit passengers or visiting tourists, Emergency Diversions to BIA will be permitted.
Freighter Operations and humanitarian flights, technical landings, inbound ferry flights without passengers at BIA will also permitted, the statement said. Airlines are strictly instructed to follow the above instructions and other instructions sent previously.
