COLOMBO (News 1st):- The government has taken measures to thoroughly investigate all individuals suspected of having the virus including those who have associated with them.
The decision was made during a meeting chaired by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to review the progress of the programs to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country. The meeting that was held in the President’s Office was joined by officials of the health sector, the Army Commander and several other defense officials.
It was further reiterated that all decisions made to curb the spread of the virus will be taken under the recommendations of officials of the health, defense and judicial sectors of the country.
While also analyzing the advisories issued by the World Health Organization on the global spread of COVID-19, all the programs conducted thus far will continue to be in effect until it turns into a favourable state. The spread of the virus in Sri Lanka could be contained due to the speedy measures taken by the government to curb its spread, said the Chairman of the GMOA, Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya.
