77 people released from quarantine camps today

COLOMBO (News 1st): Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said 77 people who completed the mandatory 14 days quarantine period were released today (March 29) adding, they were instructed to engage in a 14 day self quarantine at home. As of today, 1565 people were released from quarantine camps operated by the Sri Lanka Army. In addition 2096 people remain at 47 quarantine camps, and 20 of them are foreign nationals. Tomorrow 132 people are to be released from quarantine camps in Diyathalawa and Punani. He went on to say, a 61 year old man from Akurana had returned from India and the area was isolated because he was visiting places in Akurana. He also said that once the curfew is temporarily lifted in several areas tomorrow, authorities would observe if social distancing is maintained.
