IDH to receive a new isolation ward constructed by Sri Lanka Air Force

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Directorate of Civil Engineering of the Sri Lanka Air Force has commenced construction of a pre-fabricated building as an isolation ward at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Angoda.

The construction of the new isolation ward at IDH that consists of 16 isolation rooms began on the Wednesday (18th) and is expected to be completed within two weeks. Sri Lanka Air Force took on the initiative to carry out construction activities, taking into account the crucial point the country is at, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, which has created a demand for isolation wards, the Air Force said in a statement. Air Force Commander, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias who took the initiative, paid a visit to the construction site at IDH on Friday (20th), to inspect the progress of the constructions.
