Illicit alcohol distillery raided by Police

COLOMBO (News 1st): An illicit alcohol distillery was raided yesterday at the Bolgoda Reserve in Alubomulla, Panadura.

A suspect who was arrested at the scene is due to be produced before the Panadura Magistrates court today. The raid was carried out by the officers attached to the Anti-Narcotics division of Walana, Panadura. During the raid police seized approximately 3400 Liters of Goda. The officers said, 20 bottles of Spirit & equipments used in the production of illicit Alcohol were seized. The suspect who was arrested along with illicit alcohol worth Rs. 1.2 million, was a resident of the same area.
