Veddah village in Dambana on lockdown amidst COVID-19 concerns

The Dambana indigenous Village has been temporarily closed off due to the spread of the Coronavirus. Leader of the indigenous community in Dambana Uruwarige Wannila Aththo said this decision had been made while considering the safety of the people. "Since there is no checking process and until a decision is taken by the government we have decided to halt all activities," Uruwarige Wannila Aththo explained. He called on the public to refrain from panicking and pointed out that the country is a blessed land.
