SJB will contest under the symbol of the telephone - Ranjith Maddumabandara

Colombo (News 1st) - General Secretary of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), Ranjith Madduma Bandara reiterated today that the alliance led by Sajith Premadasa will contest under the symbol of the telephone. Speaking to reporters Madduma Bandara noted that the SJB would contest the election and form a Government on the 26th of April. When asked if the alliance would contest under the UNP's symbol of the Elephant, the former MP noted that the question was moot adding that the SJB would contest the General Election under the symbol of the telephone. Journalists also questioned if there was a possibility that the UNP might join hands with the SJB before nominations, Madduma Bandara noted that they discussed the matter for nearly 3 months and that their focus now is on the election.
