PCoI Secretary surrenders ; promises to return files tomorrow

Colombo (News 1st) - Secretary of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to probe incidents of political persecution surrendered to the Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar today, through counsel. Yesterday, court issued a warrant for her arrest for the second time as she failed to comply with notice to appear in court and return the information books relating to the Elephant Trafficking case. Warrants were issued twice on the PCoI Secretary with regard to the information books on the CID investigation against 08 accused including Ali Roshan, in the case filed for the illegal possession of 05 elephants at the Permanent High Court Trail-at-Bar, being taken away to the Presidential Commission of Inquiry. Niraj Roshan alias Ali Roshan, allegedly is a well know Elephant Trafficker according to the investigative reports. The Trial-at-Bar comprising of Justice Vikum Kaluarachchi, Dhammika Ganepola and Adithya Patabandige decided to recall the warrant against the PCoI secretary as she promised to produce the information books to court, tomorrow. Court decided to direct the order to the Acting IGP and ordered for further evidence examination to take place tomorrow.
