Ravi K calls on court to issue order against arrest warrant

Colombo (News 1st) - Former Minister Ravi Karunanauyake filed a writ petition with the Court of Appeal requesting an order be issued for the warrant for his arrest over the Central Bank Treasury Bond Scam, be suspended. Karunanayake requested for the petition to be taken up and examined completely and thereafter, issue an order to quash the arrest warrant issued by the Fort Magistrate's Court on the 06th of March. The petition also requests for the orders issued on the Acting Inspector General of Police and the Director of the Criminal Investigations Department to arrest Ravi Karunanayake be removed. In addition, the petition requests for the B report filed in court over the incident be suspended as well. The petition also requests for the case not be taken up in the presence of Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake.
