Government purchases 15,969mt of paddy

Colombo (News 1st)-The Paddy Marketing Board states that the government has purchased 15,969 metric tonnes of paddy. Chairman of the Paddy Marketing Board Jatal Manapperuma stated that the government has purchased the paddy at the Government certified price of Rs 50. Manapperuma further noted that most of the paddy harvest (2800 metric tonnes) has been purchased by the Ampara and Mulativ districts. The Board advises farmers to contact 0112 335 413 to report any inefficiency caused in purchasing paddy.
