COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Health Ministry states that the distribution of the Wolbachia bacteria to the environment, a remedy to eradicate dengue will commence on March 2nd.

Specialist Doctor of the Dengue Eradication Unit at the Ministry, Aruna Jayasekara says that the initial phase of the project will be carried out around Nugegoda and the Northern Colombo areas.

The Ministry further states that within the year so far 15,728 dengue patients have been reported islandwide.
