COLOMBO (News 1st):- Located in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, Diyatalawa is popularly known for its water bodies. Within the serenity of this area is the Foxhill nature reserve which is enriched with a variety of flora. This nature reserve which is blessed with a bounty of natural resources provides tranquility not only to Sri Lanka but to the entire world as a whole. Thanks to the generous contribution of various entities, the Gammadda V-Force team was able to conduct a tree-planting project which saw 2000 tree saplings being planted in this nature reserve. Speaking at the event, Chevaan Daniel, the Group Director of The Capital Maharaja Organisation Limited drew a strong comparison between the growth of a tree and a person. "The roots of these tree saplings assist in growing into big trees. However, these roots are not visible to us. They are under the ground. This is how our life is," he stated. Mr. Daniel further highlighted that "those who forget their beginnings cannot grow onto becoming strong" individuals. The growth of a plant into a tree is a time-consuming process of which the value will be realized in the years to come. Previously, Gammadda V-Force was able to conduct similar projects in the vicinity of the Kalu River and also the Ella forest at which several acres had been burnt due to a fire last year. At present, the project is being identified for planting a thousand saplings. However, someday in the future, the generations to come will be able to enjoy the fruits of this endeavour.
