COLOMBO (News 1st):- In a raid conducted in Rajagiriya, over 3kg of heroin were seized by the Police Narcotics Bureau last night (February 28). The police stated that the value of the haul of heroin exceeds Rs. 3.5 billion.

The PNB has also arrested two suspects and seized a three-wheeler over the incident. The suspects after being presented before courts are currently detained under a 7-day detention order.

The arrested suspects identified as residents of Borella and Rajagiriya are aged 35.

One suspect was initially arrested in the Kosthawatta road, Rajagiriya with over 2kg of heroin, while he was transporting the haul in a three-wheeler along with Rs. 40,120 in cash. Upon information received by this suspect the police had made the second arrest after inspecting a residence in Kalapaluwawa. The second suspect was arrested with over a kilogram of heroin in possession.
