COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government states that over 300,000 applications have been received under the initiative to provide 100,000 jobs for low-income families.

Secretary of the Ministry, Siripala Hettiarachchi says that these individuals will be employed to the task force attached to the President’s office. The interviews are due to be conducted on the 26th, 27th, 28th and the 29th of this month.

The secretary further noted that all divisional secretaries have been summoned to the President’s office tomorrow (February 24) to discuss the matter.
