UPDATE : Airport highway closed due to poor visibility

UPDATE : Vehicular movement along the Colombo - Katunayake expressway temporarily closed until further notice - Police Media Division Colombo (News 1st) - A fire has broken out in a forest area beside Colombo-Katunayake highway in the Seeduwa area. As a result of the poor visibility on the expressway, the section of road from Ja-ela to Katunayake has been closed for motor traffic. Motorists traveling towards Katunayake have been advised to exit from the Ja-ela interchange while motorists traveling from Katunayake to Colombo can enter the expressway from the Ja-ela interchange. Police officials have stated that fire and emergency services have already arrived at the scene to contain the fire. The police further added that the smoke from the fire is currently blowing in the direction of the highway and could affect those using it.
