We have prepared a strategy to uplift the poor in this country: Dayasiri Jayasekara

Colombo (News 1st): General Secretary of the SLFP Dayasiri Jayasekara today noted that their new alliance is the largest alliance formed with some of the most powerful political leaders. He added that this alliance will receive the support of two former presidents, and the current president.

Dayasiri Jayasekara: We have prepared a strategy to uplift the poor in this country, within the next five years. We must all work together to strengthen our plan to secure the two-third majority in parliament. Journalist: Will Chandrika Kumaratunge join the alliance? Dayasiri Jayasekara: We hope to discuss it in the future. Journalist: Do you believe that she will join the alliance? Dayasiri Jayasekara: Even on Independence Day, we say that she engaged in cordial talks with Mahinda Rajapaksa. There are no fights. She was talking in a happy manner.

Minister S.M. Chandrasena also commenting on it noted that they will register the party first and then discuss the quota. He added that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna is very strong and the quota will be decided based on the strength in each district. Otherwise, he said there is no point in discussing the quota without any need to do so. He stressed that a scientific method should be applied while allocating the quota.
