Man arrested at the BIA for smuggling cigarettes

COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Police Narcotics Bureau has arrested a suspect who smuggled a stock of cigarettes into the country at the BIA. The police said that they discovered 120 packs in his possession. The haul is valued at over Rs. 1.5 million. Police officers engaging in surveillance duty at the entrance of the airport had arrested the suspect early this morning (February 8) when he was trying to get through the entrance terminal. The suspect who was released on bail was asked to produce himself before the court on the 14th of this month. He has been identified as a resident of Moratuwa.
