Sri Lankan arrested with illegal cigarettes at BIA

Colombo (News 1st): A Sri Lankan national has been arrested by at the Bandaranaike International Airport while attempting to smuggle cigarettes into the country. Customs Spokesperson Sunil Jayaratne noted that the suspect has arrived in the county from Dubai. The seized cigarettes are valued at Rs. 1.5 million. Jayaratne noted that the items were seized while concealed in a travel bag.
