Colombo (News 1st) – The Embassy of Sri Lanka in China states that discussions pertaining to the extraction of the 33 Sri Lankan students in Wuhan China have been successful.
Acting Ambassador K.Yoganadan they would be able to deploy a special aircraft to bring these students back very soon. He added that 61 students were brought back to the island last night.
Several people suspected of contracting the virus have been admitted to hospitals around the country. Chief Epidemiologist Sudath Samaraweera said these patients are currently receiving treatment. He said that they are being tested for symptoms of the Corona Virus.
A few people suspected to have contracted the virus, have been admitted to the hospitals that include facilities to monitor the virus. Dr. Sudath Samaraweera said that these individuals are currently receiving treatment at these hospitals.
Meanwhile, 10 people suspected of contracting the virus are currently receiving treatment at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Angoda. Dr. Sudath Samaraweera said that the Chinese woman who was diagnosed with the virus is gradually recovering.
